Project Information
Executive Summary
At the end of 2018, my friend and I co-founded our first online business, sourcing and reselling sought-after streetwear and high-end fashion pieces. The mission was simple: provide people with the items they wanted at competitive prices.
This project taught me the basics of e-commerce, from building a Shopify store to mastering market research, negotiation, and brand building. It was a pivotal experience that kickstarted my passion for e-commerce.
Introduction
Mission: Provide customers with the fashion they wanted at fair prices.
Vision: To be the ultimate destination for streetwear and high-end fashion enthusiasts.
Values:
Quality: Carefully sourced, authentic products.
Price: Fair pricing without cutting corners.
Customer Satisfaction: Always putting customers first.
The Problem
When we started, we faced three main challenges:
Hard-to-find items were often overpriced or unavailable.
Customers wanted affordability without compromising on quality.
As first-timers in e-commerce, we had to learn everything on the go.
The Solution
Here’s how we tackled it:
Built a Shopify Store: My first-ever experience setting up an online shop, making it clean, simple, and easy to navigate.
Market Research: We tracked trends and figured out what people wanted most.
Sourcing the Best Pieces: We worked with suppliers globally, negotiating the best deals to keep prices fair.
Adaptability: Stayed on top of trends and listened to our customers to evolve the business.
The Results
Launched Successfully: Consistent sales and positive customer feedback
Personal Growth:
Learned the ins and outs of running an e-commerce store.
Sharpened negotiation and brand-building skills.
Discovered the importance of staying adaptable in a fast-moving industry.
Overall, this project was a significant learning experience that enriched my entrepreneurial skills, deepened my understanding of the fashion retail industry, and ignited my passion for e-commerce.
